39.1 overall at the moment, manual 2007 GS. Mostly tootling around quiet A roads, not many motorways round here. I do have to overtake a lot in the summer though, blooming caravans Rolling with laughter

Last tank 40.3 MPG and overall average using tank fill-ups and miles travelled = 38.5 (trip computer readings average 40)
Total miles 65000 since June 08
Best tank brim to brim 43.65 (trip computer said less, for once at 42.1)
Worst tank brim to brim 32.79 (trip said 33.5)
Lots of motorway commuting in my freelance consultancy work
V-Power Diesel marginally better economy but definitely more spritely response. Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

Day to day, around the doors 34-36mpg. Newcastle-Birmingham-Newcastle at legal limit gave exactly 40mpg. Not at all bad for its size and streets ahead of my last two cars, XJ8 4.0 and 4.2 and just a little better in the snow.

The reason I was watching this thread was because, when looking to buy my freelander, I wanted to know what mpg might I get?
Thanks to other peoples posts I had an indication what to expect, steered clear of an auto, and I am just adding my observations and results. Which for the record are impressive.

Surely the whole point of a forum is that interested parties can post/discuss topics that are for the most point maybe boring for others?

I'm quite happy discussing stuff like MPG and fuel maps etc. You should hear me yacking on about multiple constellation GPS and autosteer guidance systems LOL Smile

Re MPG, my FL2 manual on HSE rims/tyres nearly at 10k has averaged 33.05 over 1300 miles including 500 miles of fast motorway (clearly not exceeding national limits Whistle !), 300 miles of towing (1.5t) and mixed commute and around the doors. Using Road Trip rather than trip computer.

I was up on some hill roads around Errochty and Calvine at the weekend and tested the car's ability on snow and icy - very impressed. Alot better than my D3 with similar tyres.

England

29K/13 months old. I've averaged 42MPG overall. Very pleased with the economy. 100 mile commute daily with mostly motorway but 30 miles of rural roads. MPG plummets below 5c though Sad

That's like a V8 Disco I had some time back, 18mpg on a run and 10-12mpg around town.
