We are on our second Freelander

We've had a 2007 XS really regretted selling it so have recently bought a 2008 HSE and love it just as much.
They defiantly have the moments though and our current model has some sort of dull pulsing sound coming from the rear when driving. Dealer can't find anything wrong which is annoying as the XS didn't make the sound. But all in all we love them and won't ever go back to a regular hatch back again.

andyc when you buy your x3 make sure there are no dead cats on the engine tray underneath this happened to one of the doctors that i drive at weekends(part time job takeing emergency out of hours doctors to visits patients at home) he asked me one day could i have a look at his x3 as he had a funny smell from the engine bay as i pulled the bonnet the smell was bad stench when i looked in the engone bay there was a dead cat near the exhaust downpipe it had been there 3 weeks this can be quite common with the x3 and also expensive tyres approx £400 for the rears each Big Cry rainy-city

garytodd you live in a very nice part of the uk re noise on rear if you can try to look at the tread ware on your rear tyres make sure that its evan, possable could be a faulty tyre ie flat spot on tyre if you bought the car from that dealership try make sure thay are not tring to fob you off from a possable collapsed diff bearing(not unherd off) ask some of the other members that may have had the same problem Thumbs Up rainy-city

I am a noobie Freely2 owner of only around 6 weeks and 6000 miles. Absolutely loving it even if it is a honeymoon period. I bought a Tambora Flame 2007 HSE model with under 50000 on the clock in absolutely lovely condition because Her indoors just loved the colour. So far nothing to complain. Its a joy stepping down from a Freely2 rather than climbing up and out of my old 3 series BMW. Maybe its just an age thing but our backs are much less painful owning one of these lovely motors. Roll on the snow!

I only own mine since one month so I can't really tell how good it will be. It's a 2010 I6 auto Hse bought with 29250 kilometers on the clock. Done about 1500 km so far with it.

I really hope reliability will be there. I absolutely love the car. Runs great and much better confort than my 1973 Land-Rover series 3 Laughing ....

Joke apart it's the most comfortable and fun to drive car I ever had. I have owned Audi, Renault's, Ford's, Toyota's, Nissan, Chevrolet's, Pontiac's, Subaru's and all I can tell you is if the Lr'2 is reliable I will buy another one in the future or any other LR vehicule.

So far 100% happy but my experience with it is not valuable cause i don't own it for a long time yet. 1973 Land Rover Series 3 88''

Yes. Definitely very very happy with mine.
I've never had a problem that wasn't related to normal wear and tear. My 2008 has done more than 104000 km. I have owned the car for about 8 months now and I have to say it has performed very well. I am even happy with the navigator Smile

Spare parts on the expensive side here in Sweden though... Services are extremely expensive as well so in the future I will be doing my own oil changes, filter changes etc. It's never too late to learn something new...
