High level brake light

Hi,

I need to change the bulb and the LR service team told me this involves removing the internal trim.

I'm not particularly handy around a car I wondered if anyone has carried out this repair & if so, how easy is it ?

Thanks

I recently replaced the whole light fitting and found it surprisingly easy. Just a bit awkward working up high.
Is it not in the manual how to replace the light? Fairly sure I looked it up in there to see how to remove the trim. 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

Thanks Chris.

I haven't actually looked in the manual yet, I'll dig it out tonight.

Thanks again

Rhys

If you can't find it come back to me and I'll tell you.
Don't remember using much more than a screwdriver and a pair of pliers, if that!

Although it seems awkward, it is designed for you to change yourself. 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

Yes, you need to remove the trim. I'd start removing the two screw in the trim. Then at the bit by the rear wiper, you can get your fingers in, then prize it off all round - simples. Some of requires a fair tug.

When you put it back, make sure all the plastic pegs are lined up before using your fist to tap them back. Not all is lost if you break to trim peg, but they are about £2.50 each.

Why removing all the trim when you need to remove only the top portion???
