You are right as long as the parts used are LR approved but, dealers will make it awkward for you if the servicing does not show up on their system.
If you had a warranty problem they will not fight your corner, although wrong they will not be sympathetic to you. Also LR would probably not meet you half way with costs for anything, in fact they will treat you like a Leper (all unofficially of course).
