Flywheel and clutch

Hi everybody. I am new on this forum and I would like to thank everybody for this good forum.
Now to my question:
Can everybody tell me where I can find a good clutch kit incl flywheel for my Freelander Diesel from 2007. I have some trouble with my clutch.
Does anybody know if there are any reinforced clutch kits for this model or i have to buy an OEM.

Thanks again

I am on 47000 miles and my flywheel has been fine, had my clutch done at 45000 miles and had a standard one fitted and is way better than before.

I don't know of anywhere that offers an uprated clutch. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I had 88000 miles on the standard original clutch, then sold it to the neighbour who went onto do 102000 miles still on the original clutch and no signs of any problems when he sold it on.

That's a brave thing to do, sell a car to a neighbour Shocked You must have had faith in the car.
I remember selling a faultless to me car to a relation of mine, once sold something went wrong every week.

I talked with an LR service today and they told me that a clutch change would set me back arround 1300 GBP. I never asked him how much tha clutch costs but here in Sweden the prices are way too much.

For example the fourth service for my car would cost me arround 650 GBP. I looked att various brittish dealers and the prices you have are much cheaper then the sweds.

How comes that for the Freelander 1 exists so many aftermarket clutches and for the Freelander 2 almost none..

Normally, it's not the clutch that fails, it's the Dual Mass Flywheel. And it's just not FL2's that have this problem.
While it's apart, you might as well have a new clutch.

Had mine replaced at 26k miles and it was the DMF at fault. I asked the dealer if the DMF had been modified to prevent these problems. His answer was no. Big Cry

As far as i'm aware, there isn't a solid flywheel yet, thought someone might have made a killing here.
Chap in our village has had a solid flywheel in his Nissan Navara cos his DMF disintegrated. It now drives like a tractor. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

You could try our site sponsor www.duckworthparts.co.uk

Mine was fitted under warranty.

It's probably a good idea to aslo get a clutch complete with the slave cylinder as these have also failed prematurely. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Matzker in Germany offer an uprated clutch. See http://www.matzker.de/product_info.php?products_id=1025 You'll need to translate the page. Google translate worked for me.

Mine is a very early 2006 car, it is well known that some early cars had faulty clutches, and unfortunately mine was one of them. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Hi All,
My 57 plate FL2 had the well documented clutch/flywheel slip problem at around 21k miles and I got a new clutch & flywheel fitted under warranty.
Now just clocked up 42k miles and the problem is back and the car is now out of warranty.

I also have a very noisy /rumbling bearing seemingly coming from the rear diff which started a little while ago.

Not happy!!
Cheers
Dave

Mine's done 34k, new clutch after 26k. It's all okay now but thinking of getting rid after the winter so i don't end up in the same boat as you.
No wonder you're not happy, it's quite simply not good enough Big Cry Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
