I am on 47000 miles and my flywheel has been fine, had my clutch done at 45000 miles and had a standard one fitted and is way better than before.

I had 88000 miles on the standard original clutch, then sold it to the neighbour who went onto do 102000 miles still on the original clutch and no signs of any problems when he sold it on. |

I talked with an LR service today and they told me that a clutch change would set me back arround 1300 GBP. I never asked him how much tha clutch costs but here in Sweden the prices are way too much.

Normally, it's not the clutch that fails, it's the Dual Mass Flywheel. And it's just not FL2's that have this problem.

Matzker in Germany offer an uprated clutch. See http://www.matzker.de/product_info.php?products_id=1025 You'll need to translate the page. Google translate worked for me. |

Mine is a very early 2006 car, it is well known that some early cars had faulty clutches, and unfortunately mine was one of them. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

Mine's done 34k, new clutch after 26k. It's all okay now but thinking of getting rid after the winter so i don't end up in the same boat as you. No wonder you're not happy, it's quite simply not good enough Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |
