Pay a very careful attention when changing the battery!! Some of them are AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries that should not be replaced with wet/flooded batteries. The car is configured for the type of the battery. Here is what LR says about batteries: Before replacing any battery on the vehicle, identify the battery type by looking at the top adhesive label. All AGM batteries are recognizable by the words AGM and/or VRLA on the top label. If the battery is of the AGM type, then it shall be replaced only with another AGM type battery, and NEVER with a flooded type battery. Replacing AGM batteries with flooded batteries may cause unwanted discharge and quality issues on the vehicle. If the battery on the vehicle is of the flooded type, then it shall be replaced only with another flooded battery, and NEVER with an AGM type battery. Replacing flooded batteries with AGM batteries may cause malfunction of the charging system due to a wrong sensor calibration. |

Yes, AGM batteries are more uniform, from voltage point of view, across the whole range of temperatures and their voltage's requirements varies less than wet/flooded batteries.

Reading this post, I have to share my experience with the battery. I have an petrol model and at about 70.000Km (2,5 years) the original battery died. The dealer checked all the codes and I had the battery replaced under warranty. When I saw the new battery was a wet/ flooded one with all Landrover logos and information on it. I was told that was equivalent with the original. To make the long story short, less than a year after, the wet battery died, so I replaced it with a AGM one (out of warranty)
