The Doctor......If you read the numerous comments under that story you will see that a lot of members on that board rubbish the story.... Perhaps of more relevance (tho it is the Mail and the Express is also quoted!) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-20...tober.html

True but couple that to the dipping temperatures, aforementioned bad winter predictions and the fact that we are 1 month away from the anniversary of the major snowfall and that gives rise to some eager anticipation LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

I have known young children get less excited about snow than you Doctor. Although it is nice to have a capable car, I would still rather see less snow than in the last two years. The cold snap brings great hardship to many people, death to far too many and makes "prisoners in their own homes" of the old. |

Agreed, for the few days/weeks of excitement it costs the country millions of pounds, plus the misery for the less fortunate. Bring on the sun with hot, balmy days and young ladies with very little on. |

Totally agree with the thoughts of E Yorkshire and Wizking, most of us know the capabilities of our Freelander’s and when the conditions call for it we know that it will always get us out of most situations. Yes it’s lovely to see the Christmas card picture of crisp blue skies with snow on the ground, but in reality for a lot of people it turns into a nightmare.

I wondered when someone would say something sensible, I don't need snow to know that i have capable car, and i really don't need another big gas bill etc , i'm sure my nurses partner would prefer to be able to work as a builder and get paid rather than have to stay at home and not get paid,

In all seriousness guys don't get me wrong here. Valid points made about the cost and impact on the elderly etc and I don't look forward to snow just so that I can plough through it in the FL2 whilst others get stuck.
but no harm in giving it a try LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |
