I don't have anything official on this but the service manager said he was in contact with LR Technicians directly. I think he said there was a new design of sensors and they were fitted to my car and another to see if that helped. Not had a problem since they did it which I think was about last October even with heavy rain and preasure washing the car. Just had a service and the service desk guy asked how they were and said that they were replacing all 8 sensors for the new ones if anyone had the problem. Whether this is the normal buls***t that you get from the dealers or not I don't know. The dealer is Lancaster in Reading if that helps. |

I bought my 07 GS two weeks ago. It has the same problem. The parking sensors system works about 30% of the time. It been back to the garage I bought it from. They said it had been taken to a LR agent for the repair but it's still working intermittently.

Take it back to your dealers & get them to fix it again. The LR dealer can reseal the sensors. Mine has been back 4 times now, three times for the rears (resealed once then new rear wiring loom) & once for the fronts (resealed). They still play up a bit after heavy rain, ocassionally though. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!! Gone - 2008 Freel2 HSE Santorini Black Hello - 2010 RRS TDV6 3.0 HSE Santorini Black |

I've had my Freelander from new and it's 4 years old now. As soon as it rains and I reverse the parking sensors scream constantly - it drives 'me' mad! When it was under warranty I mentioned it to my dealership several times but just got fobbed off. Love the car but this is definitely a weak point. Is it just the Freelander or do other LRs have the same problem? Love my car |

Jools49, have a read through this thread, some have cured the problem with a smear of Waxoyl or Mr Sheen.

It is a weak point but not just LandRover, it can be problematic on all cars that use 'Ultrasonic' technology. Only ever happened to me once (so far) and a quick wipe cured it, the sensor doesn't like moisture, dirt or droplets on or around the face. |
