intermittent fault on Parking Sensors

I am experiencing a problem(intermittent) with the rear parking sensors. You get a loud beeping when you select reverse gear irrespective of you distance from an object. The button on the dash cancels the noise. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Welcome to the club! Sad God I hate the park sensors on our cars! I have been to the shop now 5 times with those Censored sensors.
It's my front ones that is causing me most of my problems. Have changed 3 of 4 now.
I am having problems when it rains and when it's cold -5 and below. (So basically all the time here in Norway!) FL2, TD4 HSE

Mine were playing up in the rain but had them replaced last summer after dealer got a fix from LR tech guy. I have had no problems since then and we have had quite a bit of rain and snow since.

FL2.1 was back loads of times for the parking sensors, replacements, modules replaced but it still did it in the end

FL2.2 does it when its really wet, or snowed but when i asked them to check it was working, they blamed it on droplets of water running over the sensors Rolling Eyes

LR themselves should have solved this by now though, the ammount of people with this problems should have meant them been redesigned.

I wonder if they have on the MY2011 facelift?, i doubt it though Evil or Very Mad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I took mine back for the same problem. The dealer dried out and resealed the sensors. Aparently it is an approved Landrover fix. Unfortunately they are playing up again in heavy rain, so it will be going back again soon.
Take your car back to the dealers, Bazza, they should repair/replace them under warranty. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I had a problem with my rear sensors and found that the sensor wiring block on the offside (UK) under the rear bumper had come loose, dropped into the line of spray off the rear wheel and was soaking wet. I dried it out, sprayed it well and secured it in it's proper place..... problem cured. Milestone I'm just popping out, I may be gone for a while.

Ive found it can be caused by he smallest bit of grit, leaf, mud on the sensor sets it off, EVEN the remains of a bit of spray polish , if its playing up give the sensors a wipe over. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

Took the car into Landrover on Friday,no fault found. Great!!! They have recorded the problem, and admit that it is a known fault with the sensors(water ingress) LR are still working on a permanent fix. I wonder if they will issue a recall notice when they release the modified part? I will however write to customer services and make them aware. Thank to all who added comments.

Spoke to the service dept. and they confirmed that they replaced all 8 sensors on mine to fix the fault. They said that they are replacing all 8 sensors for ones of a new design for anyone with the same fault.

Thats interesting!!!! I have been told that the replacement design has not been released yet. Someone has got it wrong. It would be worth knowing who your main dealer is.

Back from the dealers, re the parking sensors. They said it was a connector that was slightly loose. I'll keep my eye on it, but fingers crossed. Neutral Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
