Hi guys, newbie here. Great site.
Just got my first FL2, great piece of machinery ( although the missus thinks at £18500, its NOT an off-road vehicle!!)
Anyway, one of the keys works fine, but the other one will do everything ( lock and unlock etc) except start the car.
The docking port just rejects it.
Ive read through some posts and they all seem to be about how to recharge/replace etc.
Obviously its holding its charge or it wouldnt operate the doors/lights etc, but it wont lock into the docking port.
Anyone have any ideas?

Firstly my car is 5 weeks old, last weekend went off road up in Kielder Forest, fantstic day and managed to play with the TR and HDC buttons to great effect, there are a number of websites that may be of use to you...Google..wife swapping

The keys you have should be physically identical, they key is latched into the car dock mechanically, if I push mine into the dock it pops it straight back out, a gentle push and it will take it in itself, this took me a while to get used to the technique.

Check the fobs and make sure the are physically identical as it sounds like one may be missing a piece that holds it in place.

You could also try inserting the problem fob upside down - it will let you start the car but will not recharge when inserted the wrong way up - might confirm whether the fob is indeed faulty.

Done everything you suggested - no difference.
Cant understand why the key operates everything but will not lock into the key dock.
Maybe Im just stuck with a one-key car

So the $64000 question - how much is a key and programming?

Maybe Alex could answer this, I believe the key has a rolling code for the immobiliser, ie: changes every time it is used.

This being the case how do you use one key and then the next key know which code has been used?
Is it possible to open the doors with one key and then insert the second key in the dock, thus confusing the keys??

Hi Merlin - first job is take it back to the garage where you bought it. For sure a key is going to be an arm (probably both ) and a leg.

Don't be tempted by buying a replacement on Ebay unless it is 'guaranteed' brand new.
Key fobs cannot be re-programmed once linked to one vehicle.
