Cabin filter x 2?!

Just a quick one hopefully, i've just had a service kit trough the post and I have 2 'cabin filters' (the one that fits behind centre dash) in the box......one is a little thicker/heavier than the other, both are the same size. Thought there was only one? am I missing something?

There is only one pollen filter - fitted inside the car in the middle close by the glove box

If the other one is not the air filter (usually has a rubberised? surround in orange) then no idea Confused

No donny, both box outers are marked 'cabin filter' and are the same size, on further investigation I can only assume one is a charcoal type whereas the other is a plain paper element............looks like the Britpart service kit gives you a choice? Thumbs Up

Just had an e mail from the supplier saying to use to one that nearest matches the one in situ, which in my case is the lighter weight paper type, apparently it can be one of two types dependant on model/year and both types are supplied.

The Charcoal - Pollen filter is for the auto air con unit and the paper filter is for the manual air con and is aprox 5mm smaller than the pollen filter.

I got rid of the smell (think drains Shocked ) on start up from my 07 FL2 aircon by using a can of Comma Aircon Cleaner. Also changed the pollen filter (genuine LR replacement) for good measure - all gone now Very Happy

Its fits in the heater housing behind the glove box, you fit the pollen filter or the plain filter not both.
