engine remap

a friend has just had this done to his fl2 just the remap, the transformation is awsome,a totally differant vehicle ,3rd gear is unreal it really does fly.its interesting how the company can disable the egr and dpf in the ecu settings to give even more power.
,i'm not advertisng the company just sharing the information with other members and with the 7 day refund policy that most offer its a nice option, look up evolutionchips

he says driving normal around town up 36-40mpg,motorways 40-44 roughly.up 4 mpg on average but he says he never boots it in first just second upwards and the grin factor is awsome.he says he would not remove it and would recommend to all owners as it transforms the engine.

They cannot disable the EGR nor the DPF on latest Freelander 2's

I would tend to agree, and was surprised to read that this was possible ??

also surprised that the economy has not drastically reduced

Iv'e edited my post and added in 'latest' which means any TD4 or SD4 MY11 and later cannot be done as yet due to the software encryption. Thumbs Up

Nah! They can be done quite easy! Unfortunatelly it involves ripping out the ECU, so bye bye warranty... My local tuner had allready done one MY 11 as well as a Disco 4 which has basically the same EDC 17 incarnation.

I had my FL2 done by superchips in 2007, made the car much better to drive,
Recently had my passat 170 hp done by a company in Timperley called Carbon chiptuning and the map is AMAZING now have 200 hp via a really smooth power release and average consumption is up from 41mpg to 49mpg (when driving conservativley)

its the quality of the remap you should be looking at not just the price.

a cheap off the shelf one, or one that a company like BAS has tuned themselves to theirs specs from scratch Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
