So what that really means is, CG is not coming so no scones. Sad But you could always have a quiet word with the head of the house, we don't need CG, just Mrs CG's scones.
Also you are also saying, you have got on the wrong side of Mrs Toeknee and Mrs Toeknee has refused to bake Whistle

No not at all Andy, just thought there was a slight sense of panic from one or two people and you know how Mrs Toeknee treats me so nothing new there then Laughing

However Mrs Toeknee is working the week of the tour so it looks like no Ginger or Date & Walnut cake , but she is currently making Chutney and by chance has 12 Jars to fill so Thumbs Up

I've been told that CG is away for a few days on a ''how to choose the correct wheels for your car'' training course following embarrassment from his last purchase - I'll ask Mrs CG about the scones when I see her tonight Whistle

Although I'm not too particularly fond of the colour choice on your car Mr toeknee, I would like to say the new 'retuned' nose and the new rear spoiler does have a certain appeal, as does the clean 'new' looking exhaust. Wherever did you get that idea from Whistle

Please note the baking of cakes / scones is not compulsory for our meet ups, this has been something of an "in joke" amongst a few members who took part in the official first meet of the NE Members (although we did have a representative join us from the South) and seems to have grown in to the legend that Scones and Ginger cakes are requirement of any meet.

Okay, i'll (not missus pegleg) make some mince pies soaked in brandy and some cream. And if you fail the breathalyser on the way home. don't blame me.

Now that's not quite right is it Mr Strut, i seem to recall that you would gladly go out and purchase a Black RRS if the deal was right Shocked , something about not turning the deal down if it met your requirements. I suppose this will come as a shock to your fellow members of the Grey is Good club. I know a certain Southern member who might even disown you for you remarks ( ad210358, Mr Strut did also mention something about real BBQ's rather than a glorified gas Hob )

i would buy a black car after seeing a all in black Evoque, which was literally all black including the wheels, it looked mean and aggressive Cool

RRS again, done right all black looks good and offers best resale value,

D4 not too sure about it in black think other colours suit it better

FL2 again the Sport LE in black looked nice as i think they had gone black with the wheels too IIRC, but fuji white looks better in the FL2 Sport LE trim

Can you buy the sport LE body kit yet? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Have been to Speke Hall this morning, arrived at 10:40, car park very big and nice and quiet, more importantly...Free.

It is the ideal location to meet up, I suggest prior to going to Halewood, which is 5 minutes drive away, you will pass and see the experience centre as you drive to Speke Hall.

I also drove down past the factory and the experience centre, biggest road humps I have ever seen, if you dont have a Land Rover it would kill an ordinary car. Laughing

Anyway, this is Toeknee's trip, Thumbs Up so he can decide whether this is good and the timings etc, I will then post full directions and address.

Taz

TAZ Speke Hall it is then, no problem with that especially if its only 5 minutes away from Halewood and i think 11.00am is a suitable time for everyone to get there so as i said in an earlier post "i love it when a plan comes together" Thumbs Up

Address and directions to the rendevous point

Speke Hall, Garden and Estate
The Walk, Liverpool L24 1XD

From any direction pick up Liverpool airport signs and follow them.
As you approach the airport you will then see Brown "Speke Hall" signs, at this time the Halewood plant will be on your right.
Turn left off the dual carriageway at the Airport/Speke Hall signs, down to the roundabout and across, not left into the airport.
Follow this road staright doen and you will come to a gate in the road, drive through it onto the Speke hall estate, follow this road and take the Car Park/Picnic Area turn.

Coming out is reverse, on the approach to the factory ignore the first sign and continue past the factory, take the second "Land Rover Factory" sign, this brings you straight into the Experience centre which will be on your left, this took me 5 minutes this morning.

I will get there early and you will have my mobile number by then just in case you suffer from navigational muppetry and I will talk you in.

The car park is gravel/grassed and there is also a great tree lined drive up to the house, plenty of picture opportunities and if lucky the runway is very close so you may get a plane in the background too.

See you all a month from now at 11:00am Thumbs Up
