information centre in dash

How many days does yours first display when service due ? I understood they start at 28 ?
Randomly I get service due on start up ! but not on initial key insert and ign on but when i hit the start button, the instrument pack flickers badly then service message appears ! also its says 29 days ! then the next day it wont appear again !

Has anyone experienced a message written over the MPG display ? rather than the usual scrolling of messages.
Again on start up I get a warning message appear over the top of the MPG reading rather than changing screens !
what is going on ?

just press and hold the start button down without putting your foot on the brake or clutch.

Well under 28 days until my 07 GS is due for its 4th service and there are no warnings showing on the various displays.

thank you boss bob. Thumbs Up
I have only ever seen mine pop up with 28 or less before.
When it appeared with 29 it was only 5 weeks since the L/R service and then the info centre went bananas !as well. Its all part of a long history of bizzare electrical faults

After my last service, the 'service due' counter came on after about 4 months and counted down from 28 days. Long trip to dealers so left the counter to carry on. After counting to over -200 days (overdue) on start-up the display now only shows odometer reading. It will be interesting to see when it decides I need the next service! It will also be interesting to see how it is reset at next service as I am giving Guy Salmon in Pompey a go at it.
