On the down side, if you take them off, replacement plastics cost over a ton. |

put the roof rails on this morning, took about 2 hours total inc finding tools ect. had to cut a 24mm hole in front mounting postion through the plastic as roof bar fitment goes onto a stud that screws in, on newer models might be already done you need to check before fitting or have a 24 0r 25mm hole cutter available, the only difficult part is fitting the cross bar as you have to put in the 4 allen head bolts "5mm" from below the bar fiddley but ok to to do. be carefull not to damage the roof paint, place a cloth below

Out of interest, how much is a set of roof rails in the UK? I would like to buy some because I now have a roof tent and the Thule racks for FL2 have to be placed too far forward for the tent. The rails cost an arm and a leg here in Australia. Links to any sites selling the rails would be appreciated. Cheers, Mike |
