I've just checked the Michelin UK website and it's saying V rated. http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/tyre-selec...ter=summer Whereabouts are you looking? No, Kwik Fit were just doing their "Jobsworth" bit ![]() UPDATE: Hang on a moment; some of the tyres are being recommended as H rated, some as V rated and some as W rated, depending on your combination of wheel rim size and tyre design. The only thing that matters is your insurance cover, I'd suggest you provide your insurer with this evidence and ask them for a ruling.... Last edited by Tigger on 2nd Sep 2011 9:19 pm. There is one other alternative if you need All Terrain tyres: Kuhmo do a 235/65 R17 108V as an All Terrain....

Cheers Tigger. I'll get to the bottom of this, V rate is over the top. I'll let you know how i go on. I had trouble with kwik fit with my previous company car, seemed they were pushing this brand and the other, ie the most expensive, the most profit.

I really don't like Kwit Fit and wouldn't go there by choice! Kwik Fit is a bit like ATS; it's where you go because the contract hire company has a cheap contract with them. My last contract hire company moved their regular service cover from the Volvo dealer to Kwik Fit |

Very interesting. I shall speak to the contract hire company before I set foot in there again, just in case they try it on with me too. |

This ridiculous tyre rating has annoyed me since I bought the car, it's like selling you a boat that you can't put in water!

That's the problem. Handbook says 'V' rate. Which is 149 MPH

There is also a compound difference between H, V and W the higher the rating the softer the compound. This is to give more adhesion under power. Power output and torque ar e taken into consideration by manufacturers when recommending tyre size and rating. All FL2's (3) Gone
