2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Narvik Black
HAYNES MANUAL

After buying my FL2 new in 2008, the warranty has now expired. I would like to buy a book on maintenance for the vehicle, like the Haynes ones. Halfords told me they are not available.
Does anyone know if there will be one in the near future?

Steve.

I know there has been a number of threads about a maintenance guide sold on ebay and there are loads of sticky threads about doing all the tasks required.

Good luck Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Rimini Red

Valleyboy,

I bought the maintenace manual from ebay as I have a 57 out of warranty. the manual is very good for routine service maintenance, including some photos. However, it does not go into the detail of a Haynes manual. I managed a B service without difficulty but I would recommend that you get hold of a 27mm hinged ratchet spanner for the oil filter which is a bit of a pig without it. Evil or Very Mad Otherwise servicing is very straightforward and cost <£100 for all filters and oil Very Happy . A minor A service probably < £60 as no fuel filter. I hate paying others £50 an hour to do what I can do and you know it has been done properly!

A life of DIY will hopefully enable me to stop working next year at 55 but I digress.

Good luck with the maintenance. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

There is a web based information site which will give yo access to service, work shop repair and many other things to but it is subscription based. Anything from an hour upwards.
The site is called TOPIx. just type it into a serch engine and you should find it. I too have been searching for a workshop manual like haynes or pdf format on a disc but havent found one yet. Probably only a matter of time untill one becomes avaiable.

Do you need to be in the trade to access this site or can a private individual use it?
