Last time they did a 70 mile road test and still didn't notice the smell. I am in touch with Land Rover CC but they are "passive" to say the least. |

Contract hire However it's my ltd co, I am the director, lessee etc etc. Need to take it up with the lease co I think rather than trying to work directly with the dealer. Thanks for all your help on this stuff today - you are clearly as busy as I am |

They might have a bit more success if they lease quite a few LR's might shock them into doing something, though I don't think i should matter on a buy back, but they would have to be involved.
Its a pleasure, I fine it too easy to have browsers open for both... pleasure , work and ... FL2s Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I been away for a while, and reading the thread I realised that my battery cover fix , also included releasing the push in fixings on the rest of the plastic bulkhead cover , raising it enough to also reposition , replace the foam gasket there. This plastic bulkhead is the bulkhead the battery covery mates with. I can post some photos later in the wek when I get back home .. spent the last 2 weeks in CA / FL USA and not a sighting of a FL2 once ( a feww RRSs though in CA) |

That's interesting - thanks for the info. It's in the hands of the lease company now. They have booked the car back into the dealers on Monday and sorted me out a replacement car until it's resolved. Cheers, Gareth |

Got it back today. Extensive road testing done by dealer - can't find any fault.

Could be that your climate system is contaminated. Try running it at lowest temperature & highest fan speed setting for approx 10-15 mins - you'll need to be driving the vehicle at the time. Then do the same at the highest temperature setting for longer - 15-20 mins. Do it in that order - the coldest setting prolonges the life & efficiency of the system & the hottest setting should clear out any contamination or residues within the entire system. Let us know what happens. If the smell goes away then you will have identified the climate system as the problem. If this doesn't help with the smell, then you will have eliminated the climate system as being the problem. Then it's probably a small leak in the fuel system somewhere. |

I've uploaded the picture to my gallery , you can see the fastners I had to release to get the seal. I just used some packing foam along the edge , and re-fitted the fastners.
