I really, really don't like driving automatics and have a manual Freelander myself but, even then, I would suggest that the auto would suit the car better if you can live with the fuel consumption.

Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

My11 SD is the first auto I have had in 40years of driving. I love it! The Mrs however took a bit longer to get used to it as she thought her left foot should be on the clutch (brake) and wondered why she was not going anywhere!! Shocked
