United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

thank you, It seems clutch and DMF problems effect most diesel cars these days. I was aware of the early problems they had with the DPMF but Ford jumped on that very swiftly and took action.
I still agree with the comments about it being a light weight.
I just wish mine would work properly, I have had yet more problems come to light this week, which happened when new and was reported but has now got worse ! when using the wash wipe, when the interior fan speed is set to 3 or 4 and not on auto the fan speed increases one notch each time the wash wipe is used ! untill the fan sped is on max and then the wipers go so fast they bang the window pillar and the scuttle really hard ! Big Cry

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver

We've just come back from a week away in "The Caravan" and the chap at the side
of us had a brand new, first time out, Skoda Superb 4x4 estate.....wow what a super car,
I am fast becoming a big Skoda fan.

The car was the 2.0l 170bhp one and full of kit and he told me he paid just over £25 grand
for it.

He was pulling a big twin axel Avondale 640 something over other and he said it pulled like
a dream !!!, and he came from a Disco 3.

The car looked very well made and I'm told all the time, my sister included that Skoda dealers
are second to none.

This car would be well worth a look.

Skoda are now great cars, but having owned one once the jokes just never stopped !
Also due to a serious bacjk injury I need an upright seat with high seating position so there is no rake in the seat and my legs are not laid along the floor ! otherwise I would of kept my beloved Jag or had another.

been onto the Kuga Forum and mostly positive feed back !

"Well this weekend I've just finished towing my vintage tractor (trailer & tractor combined weight 2,100kg) - so I'm right on the limits.

Over the 40 mile journey out (some downhill ) I averaged 35.4mpg, and on the return (more uphill) averaged 33.9. So more than happy with this.

Kuga is 163ps with P'shift. 5,000 mileso n the clock

looking forward to many more happy towing weekend at Vintage Rallies."

so who needs an FL2? Also found out today the 2.2TDCi is back for the Ford range with 200BHP ! ohhh sound good , wonder when it will be in the Kuga ?

Have you ever met the kind of people who spend their weekends towing their vintage tractors to rallies?! Whistle Laughing

Yep know wht you mean , they would tow a house if they could ! Having said that there are about 40 posts about towing vans to spain etc and not one bad report other then difficulty keeping speed down ! Quite impressed actually. The 163 bhp auto seems very goood much better than the original 140 bhp.

Many would be happy solo with that let alone towing

Personally, I wouldn't take any notice of any mpg figures quoted. Instead, I would take one for a long test drive and reset the computer at the start and take an average reading at the end. The reading I got out of the 100 mile test drive on the Freelander pretty much equals what I've got out of it over the first 5 weeks and 4,000 miles.

Having done that, I'd deduct a third from the figure for pulling a heavy and/ or bulky trailer.

If the Kuga's returning those sorts of figures with a heavy trailer, I'd be seriously impressed. But, until I'd achieved it for myself, I'd stick with the pinch of salt.

Got bored so went to a Kuga forum this PM: One guy thinking of rejecting his car and another very unhappy with Ford customer services. You can get that here so why bother to change.
