BIG SHOCK FROM LANDROVER

Put my car in for repair two days ago after some warning lights flashed up. Got a call back from them to say that to fix would cost £1,000. GOB SMACKED. With low miles and out of warranty now by six months I felt that this part should not of failed so early on in the cars life.
Contacted LR customer care and pleaded my case. After being polite witch is unusual for but they aggreed to pay 25% of the bill.
Not bad for being six months out of warranty so I feel there is some hope with landrover after all. 50% of the cost would of been better, 75% would of been much better but 100% of the bill would of been fantastic and for that I would of sent them a crate of beer myself for being outstanding. Oh well cant help thinking just once maybe.
Just goes to show that if your nice you never know what you might get. Smile

Never a truer word said, I had a window on the van replaced when my local dealer said no, it's out of warranty, sent a polite email to Bailey last year and they agreed to replace the window with the later type, which this year has failed and sent a email to them at the weekend and received confirmation Monday that they will replace it again FOC, now well out of warranty.

I'm on my 7th Bailey caravan as I have always received excellent service from both my dealer and the factory. In fact this year I had to have a new front, roof and side due to winter damage and bailey rebuilt the van FOC ! and the job was better than new !
Just goes to show good customer service brings it rewards on both sides. Loyalty Thumbs Up

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Had a good few 20+ conversations with customer service about vibration in new 10 MY, made my points clear, firm and polite at all times.
8 months later I got a result I made final point and gave them 2 days to respond before I used legal and media route: Result in 3 hours, new 11MY SD with a very large contribution from LR. Delivered from order in 6 weeks as I added a few extras.
I also made contribution as had 14k on clock. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

They do say that a factory repair is always better than the original, no assembly line or time constraints to adhere to so they can afford to put the finishing touches to the repair that they weren't able to do on the assembly line.
Excess sealant is removed, trim rubber is cut to proper length, outer skin bonding is much better. On all my caravans the roof bonding has always been poor although they never leaked.

Have to say though, this is my third Bailey and the first one I have ever had a problem with, the last of the traditional build ones and to be honest after looking at what they provide at the moment this one will be with us for a long while yet, just do not like the Alu-tech range, I looked at a Unicorn the other day and didn't realise you could get so many different shades of white on the same van, on the nearside alone there was five differnt shades of white and the skin on the front to stop the stone chips was a strong yellow shade Crying or Very sad
