My passenger side Xenon headlight stopped working a few weeks back. The sidelight and 'flash' work. I assumed a faulty bulb, then a faulty igniter but neither is the problem.

Maybe an insulting question but do you have your lights turned on? I know when in 'park' mode only one side will light up on a lot of cars, whilst the ignition is off (I assume this is the case with the FL2).

No "park mode" on side lights with the FL2. |

Do you have access to a voltmeter? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

OK. I have done most things that have been suggested. I Managed to get to the F18 fuse - intact. I have also checked all the fuses in the engine compartment and in front passenger compartment - all intact. Additionally I Removed battery terminals for 10 mins but still have the same issue. |

I've had this problem several times, mostly when abroad having changed the dipping lever. Removing and replacing the plug on the back of the headlight unit fixed it temporarily a couple of times. However it was a very clever mechanic at the Aix-en-Provence LR agents who discovered the actual cause: one of the pins (the one carrying the xenon bulb power) in the plug had somehow got pushed, or just worked its way, back into the body of the plug so it was no longer connecting to the socket. He gripped the pin with long-nosed pliers and pulled it out. I saw what he did but could not understand his voluble explanation in thickly-accented French! This was nearly two years ago and it's been fine since. John Gwinnell
