Ticking Noise

Hi
Have now had my 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 for 1 month and need advice on the following if anyone can help

Every time i switch of my engine (diesel) i hear a ticking noise from the engine bay for approx 1 min then the noise stops !
Does anyone know if this something to worry about or just part of some sort of cooling down proccess ??
Thanks
Mark

Not to worry, I think it is to do with the shutdown of air con system. Current SD is my 3rd FL2 and all the same. All FL2's (3) Gone

I note you have an Silver SD. I assume it is Zermatt Silver. Which polish or wax have you found gives the best shine?

I never get around to polishing, I polish out the odd blemish. Car gets dirty nearly every weekend. Will soon be in you area, I am closing car for The Mcrae Stages Rally which will be 50+ miles in forrest and following week am scrutineer at IRC Rally, both using forrests around Perth, then Mull the following week. Lots of forrest miles before then.
Regularly washed with Turtle Wax Shampoo. All FL2's (3) Gone

You are obviously a busy man. I used to marshal Rallys myself many years ago via the Dunfermline CS motor club. These days, I stick to the main roads in as shiny an F2 as I can Thumbs Up

'ticking noise'

myf,
Hot engines usually make peculiar noises when they are cooling, but how loud is this 'ticking'? Do you know where it is from with the bonnet open?
