I used the standard jack ok to change a puncture. Doubt it would be safe doing the same in off road conditions. Main problem was the weight of the wheels, in and out of the boot! That was with the steel spare. I now have the ally which I presume will be lighter....... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

think yourself lucky the steal spare is 235 - for some reason mines a 225 (I think) at least the last time I looked I saw 225 but my eyes may have decieved me! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints |

My 2008 GS had steel spare with 225-65x17 tyre, WHY a 225 instead of a 235 only LR logic can work that one out!!!!!

The 225's came about cos they wouldn't fit the BIW with the intended NVH.

I can do NVH = Noise, Vibration, Harshness - follow an old Scammell/Leyland truck down the road and hear it singing |
