back window defrosting

Yesterday while trying to get rid of an annoying fly in my car I opened all doors and boot and noticed something:

The back side windows have defrosting on them but on the left site I see a wire going to it with a black cover over the connector. On the other side tough I see no wire and no black cover and in the window a metal click-buttontype of connector. Is this normal or do both sides need to but connected?

I've only noticed this now and since I still have warranty I can probably still get it fixed without cost.

They are antennas/aerials, not defrosting circuits... Very Happy

Suppose it was an easy choice:

a) ask one dealer who will laugh behind your back

b) as the forum where everyone will put a very public comment

Your not the first to think the wires are for defrosting - and won't be the last - but it does keep us amused Thumbs Up 2002 Honda VFR800

My exprience is that the stealer would probably not have known what it was either! Aeriels some to be a dark art to most of them.

If I put a little bit of power on it, I bet it'll defrost the window...

Anyway, if ever I see someone else ask this question, I'll be making fun of him too from now on.
