Email from dealer

Anyone else got anything similar?

Hi,

I have looked into our customer database and found that you have bought from us here, and it still shows that you have it.

I have taken quite a lot of sales enquiries over the past few days for a Land Rover like the car that you currently have.

We are currently de-fleeting a large proportion of our 2011-plate demonstrators, but don’t have that many 2008-2010 cars.

I thought it would be worth while contacting you to see if you are up for a change as we could both benefit from the outcome. New car for you, more stock for us.

Plus I’ll give you your Co-Operative Cash-back points too.

I hope to hear back from you if you are up for a deal.

Which dealer? one not far from you, have 124 used Freelanders on their group stock.
Full marks for them trying though, nothing ventured nothing gained. It is a quiet time for them I imagine.

I've had similar letters, it's always worth a try if you are due a change, but obviously they want to lure you into the showroom thinking that they are desperate for your car and that they will give you a fortune for yours! In the hope that you will go in on a high and buy something!

When you get there and ask for a price on yours they say its the least popular colour, hard to sell on, the extras you had fitted dont make any difference to the trade in price, got a few stone chips need touching up, tyres need renewing, folk only want an HSE, then when its on their forecourt of for sale, its ultra rare colour, hard to get hold of in this spec, fastidious previous owner and has 6 grand added on the price they gave you. I replied to the email with a single line: 'So how much would you pay for my vehicle then?' I never heard back! Laughing

Mine is an HSE in pristine condition with loads of extras. I think I will sell it to webuyanycar in November.

Yes could fall in love with D4, FL2 was in hospital and LR assist hire car was a new D4 SD HSE in black, I drove it to Southampton 460miles, return journey 3 weeks later was in new Jag XF, same engine as D4.
Collected my own after new fuel tank sensors fitted, drove to Banff and when filling fuel on way home leaked diesel all over forecourt!!!! OK after level dropped and going back to dealer on Monday.
They had to remove rear diff as propshaft does not disconnect from diff???? All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

I know this sometimes is true, but I am not interested in another Land Rover. I want to get rid of it and buy something else.
