I must admit it was a pointless post as I will never buy a MY11 (thank god ) LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Having owned the pre-facelift and now the new one and comparing them, the pre-facelift front end looks heavily dated (sorry), the new front brings the FL2 bang upto date - infact it even looks tidier than my gaffers RRS front end!!! (his words not mine!!). I was one of the sceptics with the chrome arse piece, it looked tacky but now i like it, although if LR had 'LAND ROVER' engraved on it then it would have looked even better.

Actually, I think the MY10 and older makes the MY11 look heavily dated. This is because the original FL2 looked similar to the later shaped FL1 which had a more aggressive stance. The MY11 is all soft and neat like the original FL1. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

I for one wasn't impressed with the new front-end, but seeing a few driving by I must admit it's growing on me. I would not trade in my car just for the new look.

Not a lover of the chrome strip, however I think it's ok on White and silver cars, but stands out to much on the darker colours, has any one had the strip wrapped yet in a body colour or even in black, thought about doing it to our new one when we get September, but having seen a few White ones I might live with it for a while, as for the front, I love it, |

I wonder if "LAND ROVER" could be etched into the surface of the arse piece, might get our graphics bods to try and create a stencil when it arrives, not sure if it is pretty flat or curved, maybe worth a try.

You clearly prefer the ugly wimpy MY11. So soft looking it makes Kia's look tough. MY10 is more aggressive and tough looking. Much better LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

Excellent, glad you will get use out of it off road. I bought mine new in April 2010 and it didn't take me long to try it out off road. I have been off roading a few times now and am going again soon in the peak district. That's "ugly wimpy...soft looking" MY11 as opposed to "deformed looking" MY10 I suppose Good to see your off road pictures. I'm trying to get back to complete the crossing of Bootle Fell before I leave The Lakes - family allowing |

It is superb off road. Some great scenery in the peak district too. I'm looking forward to it. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I started to do the rutted track section of Bottle Fell, but I didn't continue as I was still missing a decent jack in the tool kit (I've fixed that now, with a high lift trolley jack in the boot) and I'd have felt a complete prat getting stuck on the moors with a flat I'd feel a lot happier to do it with a mate too... I've got to say it could get completely addictive taking it off road Definitely going for a set of All Terrains when the M+S's wear out and (at 30,000 miles+ a year) that shouldn't take too long Last edited by Tigger on 5th Jul 2011 8:20 pm.
