The TD4 (150 bhp) engine is plenty fast enough for normal day to day use and will give you a better fuel consumption albeit for a slower 0 - 60 mph (0 - 100 kph) time. Look at TD4 with auto/command shift box as an alternative to SD4.

Really?? The official consumption stats say they're the same. The SD4just has better performance. Brian MY11 FL2 SD4 GS Extras to same spec as XS apart from the Satnav, plus Xenons. Ipenema Sand, Ebony. |

The only reason for getting 18" wheels is the bling factor. 16" or 17" are better in rough going and less likely to get kerbed.

I would second the Xenons, it is my only real complaint, the car is fantastic but the standard headlights are extremely poor SD4 Sport LE Firenze Red - no options or modifications yet, but it's early days. |

Definately go for the SD4 if your budget allows - having owned both the TD4 and SD4 the latter is far superior, mpg is affected but not by much, I usually get 40mpg out of mine. Xenons are a must and whilst a bodykit isnt available (unless you opt for the Sport LE) privacy glass will give your FL2 a sporty look. Im riding with 19" wheels and have absolutely no complaints - strangely a smoother ride than the 18" fitted on my old FL2. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Official consumption data for combined cycle: TD4 Manual 45.6 TD4 Auto 40.4 SD4 Auto 40.4 So agreed if you compare TD4 auto with SD4 auto they're the same but if you opt for TD4 manual it's better. 0 - 60 mph TD4 Manual 10.9 TD4 Auto 10.5 SD4 Auto 8.7 |
