Lookers Park Royal | Bishops Stortford - 1st Service

Just thought I'd share my experience regarding my recent service visit to LPR. Car was booked in for 15K service and some additional mods to be fitted.

Service Manager, David K was very helpful and arranged to have a service bulletin applied during the service as well as the additional work. Had a nice White MY2011 LE loaner for the day and got quite used to the auto-box - albeit not the fuel economy Censored

Due to work/travel committments LPR let me have the loaner overnight and I dropped it back the following day.

Car was nicely prepped and everything done to satisfaction.... Mr. Green

Had a slight 'incident' yesterday where the Oil Service Indicator notice came on the OBD after hitting 16K mark. Called LPR and spoke to Alison who advised that it would need a 'reset' -- not sure why it hadn't been reset during service... Unfortunately LR Assist couldn't do this and another 'visit' would be needed.

LPR aren't local so kindly arranged with Lookers Bishop Stortford to have the work done instead.
So took the Freel to LBS today and reset was undertaken whilst I waited watching the Tennis Embarassed

Many Thanks to Alison@LPR and Samantha@LBS for their prompt service and turnaround Thumbs Up

Dervfan, had my first service also 6 weeks ago, mine displayed the countdown for the service, when I got it back it was cleared, three or four days later the message appeared, oil service due, dealer visit, We are not alone in this as another member had this around the same time. This wa also on a MY11, I am thinking that there maybe two service indicators to reset on the MY11's, the countdown and the oil service Question

Deuteronomiser, me I would buy from a LR dealer, they may know a bit more to what they are selling, if you buy private or from a jack of all garage it can get complicated.

@Deut

I dealt with Caffyns in Lewes and had good sales service from Steve. When we went for a test drive he gave us the keys an let us take it out for an hour or so. Not sure what their second hand stock levels are like but worth a call. Otherwise in our neck of the woods you have Harwoods at Puborough or Edenbridge or Guy Harwood at Crawley. Good luck.

And bear in mind that a good sales department may have a rubbish service dept and vice versa. Strange, but the two don't seem to go together! Have a look through this section and you'll see what I mean.
