Say what? If I use the key fob, the boot door (that great big heavy thing on the rear of my car) will actually open (at least a little). I can't wait to get home and try that! 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame. |

I can just imagine the fun of putting the FL2 in the garage - closing the garage door - and then thinking did I lock it??? oh! I'll just press the lock button on my remote fob now - and accidentally pressing the boot open (perhaps after a couple of medicinal drinks) not realising and now the boot has opened in the garage!!! The scenario is that the was just enough space in the garage for the boot to fully open. Now you open the garage which is an electric up&over door. Where the door nicely slides under the fully open boot door and that would make a great photo to put on here for us all to (laugh!) sympathise with. 2002 Honda VFR800 2002 Toyota Celica 140 Silver (mid life crisis - again!) 2007 FL2 GS Manual Army Reconnaissance Green + freel2.com sticker 2004 Toyota Celica 140 Black - Gone 2000 Toyota Celica 140 Silver - Gone 1998 Toyota Celica ST Pearl Green - Gone 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6 - Gone 1994 Rover Montego 1.6 Auto - Gone |

Maybe the fob should just unlock it but touching the handle would open it. Then in the door itself would be a button to close it again. Locking the car would lock the boot.

Either i don't understand what is being said here or my car doesn't have this feature. If I press the boot unlock button, just the boot door unlocked and the i simply need to raise the door by hand. But there is no opening of the door automatically, not even an inch.

Quite right Whitey. My past 4WD had other such quirks a well (eg: open the door with the remote and lift the back tailgate. If you closed the tailgate without opening one of the side doors, the vehicle locked.) I had many close calls. It's still very frustrating to think that you could lock the fob inside the vehicle this way - I don't think this can happen with the normal doors as you need the fob to lock it. When opening the tailgate, it is often because you are loaing or unloading something and the keys are easily put down whilst you do so. How on earth would you get in to retrieve your fob other than by smashing a window? (Ouch!) |

Good idea There is one on already each rear passenger roof handle which is far better than the one VW fit just rear of the drivers seat belt - hang your jacket on and it obscures your right sholder blind spot check very nicely |
