Is there a "mute" button on the stereo?

Is it just me ... I can not find a mute button or a better way than the big off button! Anyone know? It does it for parking and calls its self but just a general every day kids in the back argument and no better way to step in with a loving SHUT UP than I have to push the off button everytime.

cheers

I use the "Mode" button on the steering wheel - hold it for a few seconds and it switches to AUX input - with nothing plugged into the Aux socket it is silent.

Perhaps a simple answer - within easy reach while driving...... 2002 Honda VFR800

When in Radio mode the "left" and "right" arrow buttons change the station.

"Mode" will cycle through the availble modes - on mine Radio and Aux unless there is a CD inserted already.

To switch to Aux you MUST hold the "Mode" button for a few seconds (I wait until it changes)

Hope that helps... 2002 Honda VFR800

Mute button would be good for switching off annoying programmes but keeping the traffic info going. You can turn the volume right down but it's still not completely silent. Have had them on various cars but not, as far as I can remember, on a LandRover
