Re: Should I order Privacy Glass | |

As we have gone for black leather I wondered if the factory tint would make the interior a bit gloomy - although it is an HSE with sunroofs which should help. Our local dealer often fits film which has the advantage of being available in three levels of tint, so it would be possible to go for a lighter tint.
On a cosmetic note, we have gone for Orkney Grey and I think it would look very classsy with privacy glass - others may disagree!
Advice from those who have lived with factory fit or retro-fit film type privacy glass would be appreciated.
Lots of good advice here; what did you decide to do in the end?
Tigger.
Tigger, in the end I was over-ruled by 'the boss' so no privacy glass. Just heard today that build has been put back by two months, so no delivery until 1st September. Don't know how this will affect p-ex as sales person not in until Monday. Do you think I am in a position to insist on agrred value for 1st July, or will I have to go with w reduced price? I have signed an order and paid 1000 deposit.
That's a shame, "the boss" would have over-ruled me the other way!
The build being put back by two months is a so and so! As far as your contract is concerned, it will be down to the T's & C's on the reverse of your original contract of sale. I would imagine that the dealer has covered himself for the option to adjust the valuation for trade in if circumstances change, though whether they choose to enact any such clause would be questionable.
I wonder why the build has gone back by two months ....
Tigger.
I put my order in on 31st May on a pre-ordered car, but the specification was changed. I was told it could be changed any time up tp 7th June without affesting build dates - each individual car on their order list has a build date and last date for alterations. I am beginning to think that their admin, who do the ordering, cocked up and didn't place the order until after 7th June. The first I knew of the problem was an answerphone message received yesterday, 10th June, which is a bit suspicious. My order may have been lying on somone's desk for a few days before any action was taken. Anyway, I will probably never know the truth as I'm sure they will come up with a 'convincing explanation'. The only positive feature of the delay is that a 61 reg car will be worth marginally more down the line come trade in time.
