What is it that you guys think is ugly on a X6 Question Shocked
The front is nicer than an X5 the interior is absolutly great Thumbs Up
An that leaves ther rear - which in my mind is a little unpracticble, but its not supposed to be a LR.
The X6 may be different to what you are used too but it is far from hideous - Try looking looking in the mirror in the early mornings, that is what most would call HIDEOUS Laughing

*Roll sleeves up*

The front of the X6 is indentical to the X5 and I've seen better looking hippo's, the interior is uninspiring (well built yes, but there's no 'occasion' to getting in one) the lines from the side don't flow, they don't make the car look dynamic, just ungainly, the wheels are WAY too small for a car that's supposed to look 'sporty' and the back end is way too big.

Basically the whole thing is just tooo inflated, it needs some serious lipo! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

No need for a punch up BD Laughing BUT
The front of a X6 is similar to a X5 - not the same
The interior is similar to any BMW, you like or you dont, but I do and has more quality feel to it than a LR in my mind.
The side on view is a bit different I agree, but why single out this make when Nissan can offer you a Juke to joke about Question
If you consider the wheels are too small then its possible to change them (as photo)
However its suposed to be a "SUV" with a sporty look, so maybe the Evoque apeals more Question

In reality I dont know why we are bothering to get twisted knickers over a BMW when it is Land Rovers we should be creating hell over - they need to get their act in order and we should be getting irritated that they are not Whistle 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

It seems to be missing a roof high spoiler, a ten feet antenna and a remote control unit.

Rolling with laughter

It was a hot topic in our studios, we just haven't found an angle where it looks good and works. BMW tried to disguise the SUV as a sports car, and that's where it started going downhill...SUV design and sports car design is different and the 2 do not combine. For example, the wheels on a sports car should be roughly half the height of the car to get the correct proportions. I'm not a major fan of the Evoque either to be honest. I don't take cars like the Juke seriously to be honest, cheap(ish) cars I've always found can be excused for loking bad but when you're spending 60 grand...

Do you like the one in that image you uploaded? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

The X6 isn't too bad if you compare it to the look-i-likey BMW GT

Agree with you Nick Thumbs Up the GT is almost as iffy as CG's look-a-like-HSE alloys Laughing

Big Dave - Just put the photo of the black one on to illustrate the wheels and no I prefer the unmodified version.
But why all this BMW hate rant on a LR forum I will never know. Seems a bit pointless ranting on about a vehicle that we should not even notice at all, unless secretly somebody on here is a bit envious Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Interesting debate, but when it comes to car design there's no optimum benchmark to be found. In regard to this subject folks behave irrationally - hence the vast divergence of opinion. It is that same arbitrary and prejudiced thought process that influences the marketing & sales campaigns which sustain the unnecessary plethora of automotive brands and models. No other single consumer product industry has such a broad array of manufacturer and product choice.

Is it form over function or function over form, objectivity or subjectivity that directs a person to their own favourite design palette. We are deliberately and skillfully led to believe that we need this or dislike that feature. Agree to disagree and continue to throw a harmonious creative spanner in the works (debate) and enjoy the variety of fireworks that explode.

Here's mine: BMW have the most horrid of radiator grille designs.

Well if we are going to go down the radiator grill design lane, I recon that Jaguar will be difficult to beat when it comes to ugliness Wink 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

S-Type? the grills just boring...the whole front makes it ugly!

I wouldn't say the X6 was a Marmite car, it just appeals to a certain audience that I'd describe as having 'more money than sense' Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
