I've been out and tried the MDA III again and it appears once the pairing is set up it works every time. However I now have another issue. Once the phonebook is copied across because I have home landline, work landline and mobile numbers stored against a lot of my entries the car kit displays multiple entries of the same name. As there is no number shown I have no way of knowing whether I am calling the correct number. I reckon this is down to the way the contacts feature on the PDA interprets the Outlook contact entries. I guess I could download the phonebook to the car then disable auto copy and remove all but the minimum conatct details for each person. Anyone any ideas how to work round this?

as I suggested, use the voice command function mate..it'll make your phone calls a lot easier like
examples:
CALL WIFE CELL
CALL WIFE OFFICE
CALL WIFE OFFICE 2
CALL WIFE PARLOR
so on and so forth...

just remember to record each contact numbers in a quiet environment inside your LR2 or the toilet Whistle

Nah, get Microsoft Voice Command (v. 1.6) installed on your phone - no need to record any voice tags then as it does it with speech recognition. Also installing jetwaremobile on your phone will allow it to work with the car, so then you can do all that, plus also say things like:

WHAT TIME IS IT?
WHAT'S MY NEXT APPOINTMENT?
WHAT'S MY CALENDAR FOR TOMORROW

etc, etc. Well cool.

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Indus Silver

Thanks to all who gave suggestions on the mobiles.
While at my local dealer this morning, one of the salesmen had bought a Nokia 6233 a few months ago which worked out the box. Since then, he has upgraded the software twice with no problems, now using version 5.10?
So today, i bought a Nokia 6233 from Orange with version 3.7, charged it up, paired it to our F2 and it works perfectly.
I also got a return phone call from LR Service Centre after calling them early this morning, which surprised me, but was able to tell them of the success so no idea what their solution was going to be. Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

Sad now this one won't work well with my phone for some reason, I was suspecting the "AyePhone" Whistle is causing it to hung-up on me. Do Not Follow Me...You Can't Go Where I Go!!!

Does anybody have any experience with a Sony-Ericsson W580i? I'm looking to upgrade my mobile but I can't find any info on LR's compatibility list or on google.

Thanks

I answered my own question. The w580i does work. I am using the Rogers version.

Motorola V3 is working very good.

Asus P750 (WM6) now is working very good, but had a problem with first connection.

Just for info with anyone using Win Mobile 6 - I use HTC TyTNII. Upgraded to Win Mobile 6.1 and nothing now works - won't connect. Worked fine before - price of progress!
