I find that if i use the stero rotary control to start dialling from the Nokia 6230i phonebook I don't hear the ringing out tone, but if i activate via the steering wheel green button it does ring? Strange but I can live with it, very pleased with the way the PTI works even without sat nav. |

The quality of the list is indeed impressive. But no Smartphones are compatible with the Freelander 2 |

Hi have a QTEK 8310 smartphone running MS mobile 5, works great with the FL2. Phonebook synch is excellent. The only slight problem is that when you call someone, you don't get any ringing sound, they just answer and all is fine. Apart from that, works great! |

LR have got to get their act together here, they are making the car up market, which means the owners are likely to have more modern phones. To use a Nokia based system that doesn't speak to even Nokia phones that are a year old is a nonsense. D4 HSE Lux for me

Agreed ! Is it a Nokia based system though ??? When we first got ”Freddy” I thought (hoped actually) it might a Parrott system, but looking at the list of approved phones, there seems to be a lot of Motorola phones listed, which makes me wonder is it a Motorola system ?? Either way it’s a much better PTi system than on the RRS, I consider the system in my Sport to be a complete waste of money. There’s only a handful of phones that are supported by the cradle, most of which are on the budget shelf of the phone shops by now as they’re slipping into the world of “Obsolete Oblivion” If you go Bluetooth on the Sport you lose all but the very basic of functions, most notably the loss of phonebook transfer. With nothing coming up on the screen but the number calling you, so you have to try to reconcile the number in your head to figure who’s calling you. But in my case the sound quality when a phone is in cradle is rubbish, with Bluetooth offering better sound, not to mention a wider array of phones, that’s the way I have to go, but as above, with no phone book. I sincerely regret having the PTI in the Sport, I’d much rather to have been able to install a Parrott kit instead. So believe me chaps the Freelander’s PTI is way better than the other offerings from Land Rover “You feel uneasy, as the mad scientist locks the door behind you & dissolves the key in a vat of Acid” |
