B Pillar Trim Wear [Seat Belt Abrasion]

Noticed last week whilst cleaning her Ladyship's FL2 that on the driver's side the B pillar trim has been worn by the seat belt. No damage/fraying as yet to the edge of the belt itself. Reported this our local official Swiss LR garage.

They have just come back this morning stating that it is not a warranty issue and cannot replace trim as such.

Q1: How many of you in UK have had this trim replaced under warranty relating to such worn pillar trim? In your reply please state when i.e. MM/YY

Q2: What's the relevant LR SSM number and if known the Installation Procedure notification reference number.

I need to collect as much evidence as possible before I write an official letter of complaint to LR Switzerland about their refusal to correct this design fault.

Many Thanks

Don't forget to get BOTH sides done. I mentioned the drivers pillar thinking they would do both... they didn't and i had to re-book it in for this work to get done Sad

No questions though - just done!

Good point maffs Thumbs Up

So please can folks also state in your replies if LR replaced both Driver's and F.Passenger's trim with the new seat belt holder. It would not look right if they only did one side and not the other. Thanks.

I cannot confirm if they changed both side or not. It was only the drivers side I had an issue with.

Looking at the two, they look both the same. So I either did get two new replacements or they replaced my drivers side one with the original designed part.

The replacement should look like this (Note: it has a lip which prevents the belt from rubbing on the pillar trim)

Mine are worn too but I cant be bothered to replace them, its not damaging the belt so the person that buys the car next can do it.
