Bravest FL2 in Taiwan

Here are some videos for my friend's FL2 in tough off-roading activities such as river tracing and rock crawling.
With limited FL2's ability after all and some help, my friend finished the whole course.
Not boldly like him, I left my FL2 home and drove my another more capable off-roader, a modified Jeep Cherokee.

Hoping that the original poster won't mind, I will mention that on 18 inches wheels (as seen on the footages) there are very few (if not none) off-road tires that will fit FL2 requested tire's sizes.
For sure are standard tires.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Tonga Green

I've watched the videos - look quite good.

My question is - was the driver of the FL2 giving it enough welly for the Traction Control etc to do its magic - looked as if he was driving a little too slow when it showed slipping.

I don't know really - never driven off-road (yet!)

I would have thought that if the other LR's managed it the FL2 would have been ok - didn't look too difficult terrain to me!!!! 2002 Honda VFR800

Good point and agree don't think he was Thumbs Up I too lack the experience in off roading but for sure was taught in the few hours experience course to get the revs up to bring in the clever traction control. In the case of a spinning wheel give it a foot full (well ok maybe just a tweak) and the torque is transferred to the other wheels Thumbs Up

Didn't the Disco look like a big old bus wallowing around Shocked

Good video's Bill thanks Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Hey Bill, it's good to see a fellow compatriot on here, though I've lived in Australia most of my life. How is the FL2 perceived in TW, are they popular?

I am not sure if my friend engaged any terrain response. When we were doing the first wade, one discovery was stuck due to unexpected river bed mud (see ). My friend’s FL2 was almost stuck but successfully made it (it’s a pity I missed recording). I was quite impressed by FL2’s wading ability and intelligent 4WD system as a SUV without low range and higher ground clearance.

Nice to know you. LR owners are a minority here. They are not cheap here after all, even the most price accessible FL2. Most new LR owners here do not drive off-road. They would rather drive it to play golf.

Where's the winch?

On the video it's just a stretchy tow rope. 2002 Honda VFR800

The Disco is winching. Look at the movie.
First they try with the tow rope and then they winch it.
And you can see the winch string just below the FL2 left headlight.

The man with red pants is operating the winch, the Freely comes out on the winch, it appears at first as though it is driving itself out, but as Alex points out, you can see the winch line.

you can see it in the pic too, if you look closely. i have always been instructed never attach the winch staight to the vehicle, i thought you use a strop. And i would not stand where he is too!
