My mate is threatening to bring his 130" Defender with rear mounted caravan - just to the carpark, not the whole trip as he can't be bothered to take the van off (it actually fits on top not behind). If so we'll have a kitchen. Can't promise though unfortunately, so best look up the cafés Sad .

Breakfast in Bala

Ok Guys,

I have spoken to Martin at LRE and the good news is as follows.

Arrive as early as you can, Park in the Plas-yn-Dre Hotel car park,
walk from the back of the hotel down a very narrow road at the side of the hotel towards the Statue
and on the High Street turn right and within 50 yards you will see the Plas-yn-Dre Cafe/chip shop
(if you get to The Spar you have passed it). This is where all the LRE guys eat so it has
got to be good.

Job Sorted!

Last bit of info. The Range Rover Evoque I mentioned at the very start of this
thread (seems along time ago) is 95% certain to be accompanying us.

Cheers,

What instructions should I have received? I know all the meeting stuff, but what I would like is some guidance on what to bring along as I've never done anything like this before. Should I bring a shovel? Footpump? Towrope?

Best guess is bring a sense of humour, camera, wellies, and hot drink in a flask. Water resistant clothing might be a good idea as it is Wales after all, and you may need to get out frequently if not to asses the ground, then to laugh at me and others getting stuck Razz

No need to go out buying ropes shovels etc. I am sure there will be one or two of each between us, can't imagine anyone being left behind, especially when it makes such a good photo oppertunity Very Happy

Did I mention the sense of humour.

Just remember it's not a challenge, your life does not depend on you overcoming each obsticle, we (well I am) are doing this for fun, in what is a fairly expensive car that has to get me to work the following Monday. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Russel,

No need to worry about all that stuff except for the inner man. Landcraft have been doing this for over 20 years and will be fully equiped for the very remote chance of an emergency.

As it says at the top of the joining instructions it is an Adventure DRIVE on forest tracks through the spectacular Snowdonia scenery and it is set out to cater for all capabilities and skills of drivers. If you do not feel happy with a particular section there will be an alternative route.
Hear what Andy131 says but it is not a trial so do not think we will be going to many places where we will get stuck.

Again as Andy131 says we have all got to drive home in our cars so sit back and enjoy the day.

Cheers,

Have booked Friday off, have a garage full of parts, glazer on standbye, more than a little eager to get her back, just waiting for the insurance to agree.

OK Clementine might not look pretty on the day(going to need a serious spray job), but I am going to try my best to be there. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
