I tried Williams "Land Rover" Manchester before giving my custom to Stratstone @ Bury. I Would never cross their doorstep again, not interested one little bit in customers on the day I called in to show my interest in a Disco 4 XS despite wandering around the showroom with my Mrs for over 1/2 an hour. Salesman almost annoyed when the receptionist stopped him with my query. w r's

A LR dealer offered me £17000 for my March 2008 31,000 miles XS recently, that was a price for June/July when a new car would arrive. 18,000 on the day.

I have to say that LR should take more interest in their dealerships. A main dealer offering this amount of money for one of their own marques is obscene Williams needs to be taught a lesson for their 'Arthur Daley' attitude. No one in their right mind would accept £19000 for a 15 month old £30000 motor. Particularly, when they appear to be in such demand. The problem of course is that when you have a particular model in mind you can only negotiate with the dealer that has what you are looking for. I will just have to keep looking. But beware any of you that thinks of WILLLIAMS of MANCHESTERwhen looking for an F"

I don't think MacW was being very clear as to which dealership it was MacW, Quite rightly you don't have to take £19k and on the flip side they don't have to take your car (for whatever reason!). Out of curiosity why Williams - if that is who you're on about? Remember, there are plenty other LR dealers to choose from. You also may find they would give a better price face-to-face as opposed to over the 'phone (don't know why, some dealers are funny like that). Also give James at LPR a nudge via the magic of a pm. They could keep a look out for you till one comes in However, try trading in a car when buying with employee discount - irrespective of how good a condition you think your existing motor is in - it's bottom book prices all the way there - and there's no favourable finance rate either! |

As indicated previously, the reason for contacting WILLIAMS of MANCHESTER is that trawling the LR website identified an F2 that they had that suited my requirements. This is not the first time I have used the LR UK website to find a vehicle, but it is the first time that the trade-in value has been a joke! It is true that there are very few SD4's currently available and I assume the this Dealer is just trying to capitalize on this fact. |

Does this LR website actually work? A couple of times now I've bought from dealers. The first time they didn't have the car on the website but had something else I liked; the second time they did have the car but I didn't like it, so bought another one that, again, wasn't on the website. Nothing beats going along for a look (if you have the time that is, and if you can persuade the salesperson to take an interest). |
