Got to disagree - bought my first FL1 new from there, after sales was so bad I replaced it with a Skoda after only 2 1/2 years (and 90,000 miles). 3 clutches, IRD, Rear Diff, 3 sets of propshaft bearings, 2 exhausts, numerous electrical faults - 3 year warranty expired at 13 months when the first clutch let go completely .

Bought this FL from them 2 years ago, traded in a 3 year old 65,000 mile HSE auto and only got £7k as trade in against a 12 month old HSE auto with 900 miles on the clock. OK it might not be a popular colour, but even with the poor trade in £21K did seem reasonable.

The only reason I went back was Williams sent me there - honest, they couldn't be bothered and recommended Stratstone

Well, I have today arranged a pretty good deal I think from Stratstones in Cupar. The Sales staff, were reassuringly pleasant and without attitude.I should collect my few months old SD4 XS in 10 days. It is silver with privacy glass and mudflaps. This deal is £2700 better in my favour than the one that WILLIAMS of MANCHESTER offerred

I think that they quote really low on purpose in the hope that some people will accept without question.They probably then think they can always increase the offer to get your business.It seems to happen in other trades as well, as my 78 year old mother in law had a quote for some work on her house for £10400.When my wife rang to discuss the high price it dropped to £6000( another builder quoted £3250).Some people just try it on!
