Dont let it get that dirty over winter!! Autoglym products very good for that! Cheaper on amazon tho! Mine is always kept clean through winter, even tho it does over 2000 miles a month! |

I dont let my car get too dirty, but the preparation stages prior to polishing and waxing are needed to prevent inflicting damage to the paintwork and making the car look even better Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Mine is also kept clean throughout winter. But it's only regular washing.

Iron x- Ideal to use before claybar? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

Yes, spray on , sponge around and it turns purple when dissolving the iron or organic contaminates, leaving a lot less to get with the clay bar

Agree with Nick it’s all in the prep, couldn’t believe it when I first clayed the car, the amount of muck it took off was surprising, leaving the surface super smooth and ready to polish and wax. I reckon I will probably clay the car about 3 time this year, once after winter , them summer, and the just as the weather turns in the autumn

So what do I wash the car with first to remove the wax that is already on it, so I can star afresh as it were, I have heard of using dishwasher tablets is that right ?

Don't use dishwasher tablets, they are powder and gritty and will scratch the paintwork
