United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Santorini Black

I'll second James Edwards at Brock near Preston. I bought mine from there and they did me a good deal, and my car was already priced lower than the Parkers guide. The face lift model was just coming out, so they were keen to clear the forecourt of the older model.
They regularly have 'special events'. Go to their website, compare prices with Lookers Park and see who offers the best deal. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I have spent the morning calling round dealerships around the northeast / northwest.
Everyone seems to have to speak to there managers before commiting to a price.
The prices are coming down , approx £300 between the first and last so far.
I am wondering ,is there genuine competition between the dealerships or do they all have a set price reduction limit ( appears to be around 5%).
Do they talk to each other??can i enhance my quotes slightly. to encourage further discounts.

I was offered around 5% too but with a very healthy trade in value on my fl2 on top.

Instead I'm keeping my car another year or so. At work

I have secured a great deal ( I think ) . The only thing that is a bit of uncertainty is the privacy glass. The dealer has said they will fit it at the dealership , not from the factory. Does anyone know if this will cause any problems or will the quality of finish be the same

I think i have ended up with a pretty good deal. Smile

My original spec was GS TD4 Manual in black with full size spare , Mats, Privacy glass and Climate pack.
List price is approx £27200.
I spoke to half a dozen dealers and was quoted £25,850 to £26,100 with a mid July delivery date.
Following a call from one of the dealers i have secured a new vehicle in Santorino black , Not the new Sumatra black.
I believe the santorino is a shinier black?? with the spare and mats.
The down side is the privacy glass will be film and there will be no Climate pack..
But the good news is the price comes in well below £25,000.
Is my film and lack of Heated windscreen worth a £800 saving , i think so .
And a brand new car for 7% below RRP Very Happy
Available at the end of May too. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Glad you like the car. Wait 'till you see Santorini Black in the sun, it looks fantastic. Bit of a devil to keep it looking clean, but worth it. Thumbs Up Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Alot of the FL2s around our end seem to be driven by older people ( retireds) but i suppose they have to subsidise there pensions somehow. Confused

Yesterday after finishing work I returned to my new pride and joy and discovered with dismay that I had left her under a lamppost, to say the least the seagulls had had a field day .
On my return home I hastily got out the hosepipe and it was then that I noticed the strangest thing. The number plates on the front and back are attached with Velcro!!! Is this a common occurrence and Normal. I have visions of ordering new number plates weekly. Rolling Eyes

Only cars I know with velcro number plates are ringed cars or bank robbers!
