How stiff is yours?

Does anyone else find shutting the tailgate needs quite a bit of pull. Also the struts don't seem like they operate particularly smoothly. Just wondered if it was one of those LR characteristics or whether it's worth a trip to the dealer to compare. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

No problem here with any doors or boot, they all operate smoothly and don't need slamming.

Careful

I have read stories of the nuts that attach to the body of the car been ripped out by jamming struts

I would grease them or something ASAP

Mine are nice and easy as they should be Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Cheers. I'll check the mounts and get the lube out too. Shocked For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

I've had a better look this morning and the issue seems to be in the last bit of travel of the strut, it seems a bit, for want of a better word, graunchy.

Next time I'm passing I'll pop in the dealer and see what the display ones are like. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.
