Oh! then I'm in full agreement Bloody cheek Advertising aside, I must admit to re-using the free bags and wish they were charged for here. There's no greater non recyclable polluter going plus there's more on the trees in the countryside than there are chickens on CG's ranch. |

perhaps we should ask for plain bags when we buy things, does anyone know of a large store that provides bags (free or not ) that do not have their name, logo or slogan printed on.

Spot on snappa The consumer chooses to pay for the clothing etc., that he or she knows will display's the brand's logo prominently - however - you did not elect to carry advertising on behalf of the supplier for free or without prior authorization. The latter is a discourteous infringement of your liberty to opt in or out. |

I assume we are all going to rush out and remove the 'Land Rover' and 'Freelander 2' badges and logos off our vehicles.

I'd rather make it law that all packaging had to have logo's on it. Then when litter is collected it is obvious which companies products are causing the litter. Then the local authority could charge those companies for collecting the litter. If the cost of the product had to rise to pay for this then the companie would do what they could to reduce the packaging and the litterers might be priced out of the market. |

Stopped using free supermarket carrier bags as kitchen bin liners, Now have to buy bags on a roll that do the same job and are probably produced in the same factory. Still, I suppose the manufactures are glad of the new business, as supplying supermarkets has dropped off. Landfill now full of plain paid for bags instead of free ones with logo. |

The majority of supermarket carrier bags are now biodegradable and will degrade in landfills, whereas many bin bags wont.
