My Jeep Cherokee had a big orange sticker on the sun visor to warn you that it might overturn when cornering. Perhaps this one was being driven by an American???

You do realize that this has nothing to do with the manufacturer of a vehicle don't you? Have you seen the size of Americans? Just try strapping a Water Buffalo with a mouth full of chips to the roof of your FL and see if it stays upright whilst cornering? Rolling Eyes It's not the vehicle my friend, it's not the vehicle.

I agree with the comment about the pot hole being the sole cause of the flip over, I would have thought is was far more likley to be "Giant Pot Hole causes driver to lose control and car flips over". I wonder if the FL2 with all of it's electronic systems would have been OK.

I also think it's a shame the newspaper cannot get it's facts correct but I suppose it make better headlines to have 'Range Rover Crashes' than '10 year old Land Rover crashes'. But then newspapers never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Lokking again at the photo, I see that the Land Over is fitted with Hankook tyres Neutral
Maybe it was combination of driving too fast and a tyre blowout when it hit the pothole as cheap tyres often do and nothing to do with the make of vehicle. Could also be a warning about using such rubber Whistle 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Are Hankook tryes cheap?, swift caravans (sorry to all you non caravaners) boast they now fit Hankook
tyres as they have a higher load rating.

No Zoey, my Jeep never did turn over, but after the second brake failure I traded it in for a Land Rover. Why is it though that all the Americans we see on TV, on holiday, etc are huge, loud, uncouth etc, but all the ones I actually know are nice, normal-sized, good-to-know people? (Well, almost all...)

Sorry, going off topic a bit. Wink

I think that is because they used to use matador tyres which had sidewall failure problems
I doubt if you will damage a caravan specific tyre in normal use

There's nothing wrong with Smarts!!

I had a Smart car. I thought it was great. I could (and did) park nose into the kerb if the space was a bit tight. The main reason I got rid of it was that my wife bought a MGF, so we had 2x two seater cars, and the other reason was that I had an accident in it and wasn't happy with the repairs done to it. Someone didn't stop whilst I was already on the roundabout, and sideswiped me. The other guys car (some small Japanese car) had to be low loaded away, I drove my Smart home with a buckled 'B' pillar and a couple of broken bits of plastic! Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

The 'Daily Mail' a 'newspaper'?

You must be joking. More like 'Daily Rubbish'!!! Rolling with laughter Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
