Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey
New Member and first time L/R owner

Hallo to all members.

Collected my 2009 td4e xs spec on Saturday and so far has exceeded my expectations. Previous car was an Octavia Scout which I had for 4 years and 100k faultless miles. Love the ride quality and how it soaks up the numerouse potholes etc on our modern road system. Still getting used to the fact that it is wider and it feels it.

Gripes - mainly the lack of storage cubbies but if that's all I have to moan about then I'll be more that happy. Dealer is sending me some contact details of a firm in Fife who can fit the HSE style front seat armrests so will investigate costs etc and post details when available.

Very Happy

Hello and welcome Thumbs Up

You won't be disappointed by the off road performance and snow performance in addition to the car being excellent anyway. Enjoy the motor. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

welcome, another member with good colour sense nice grey car xs spec good option i could not justify paying the extra 4k for all leather and a sunroof and a few extra speakers on the radio you can get a central arm rest plus storage box that fixes at the rear of the centre consul for about 100 quid look on the forum under arm rest, have you sat in a seat with an armrest fixed on it not really made for the bigger people if you know what i mean they get in the way Thumbs Up rainy-city

I (and I'm sure many other members) will be very interested to be informed of a company that can retro-fit the OEM individual front seat arm rest(s) to non HSE front seats. So please keep us posted on this subject. Thumbs Up

Welcome to the forum and Land Rover ownership, I too would be interested to hear how you get on with the armrests, miss them from my old HSE. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Biscay Blue

Welcome to the forum and to your new Freelander! I am sure you will be pleased with the car. I've owned Skoda's in the past and they also provided me with faultless motoring whilst I had them. Whilst LR have a reputation for less than perfect quality, I have had no real complaints with either of the two Freelanders I've owned and find it to be a comfortable and very capable vehicle. Enjoy Thumbs Up

PS: this forum is great too! 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

09 XS should accept armrests but older models did not come with the correct seat internal frame to mount armrests.

I know have OEM armrests all be it in a RRS and find them a bit unremarkable be honest the wood company armrest whilst being fixed was a much simpler and just as effective,
I find the oem armrest are to close to the body an armrest should line up with the gear selector. luckily RRS has a built in armrest on the central cubby which replicates for me the height of the wood company one in a fl2.

Mrs G lifts the seat right up and uses the oem armrest as the built in one is far to low as was the wood company one.

So short arse = oem rests
normal person = wood company At work
