Light Irritation

I normally leave the lights on "auto" but have found that quite often with fog (like what we have this week in Glos) the lights do not always come on and I have to revert to manual adjustment.

Conversely on relatively bright days if I travel up my lane and under some trees the Censored come on. No big deal but a slight irritant.

the sensor can't distinguish fog as it if still often quite bright.

I have had the sunny day/shadow switch on too, also I have been getting the lights coming on when the suns very low in the sky and blinds you.

10forCash said this was normal and due to the bright light the system knows to switch the lights on to aid your viability Cool Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Driving in very poor visibility with fog and spray this week in France/Belgium, I found that the lights were not coming on, so switched them to manual. Other makes were the same - I had a near miss with an Audi coming up behind me at about 100 - completely invisible. I noticed his lights came on shortly after as he went into a tunnel, but as soon as he came out the lights went off again, even though visibility was worse!

Must admit the auto lights are a bit odd, a murky day with thick fog and you need to put your lights on manually, yet driving into the sun with the visors down, sun glasses on and the auto lights on Question
