that guard need removing in order to attach a tow rope , its not great having to do it when the car is bogged so remove before you get stuck. or just a thought don't get stuck.

We learnt this in Keilder when Lee got his orange fl2 stuck , the disco 3 lads attached a rope and dragged him over a load of rocks in a totally 'non-damaging' sort of a careless way. not even giving me chance to throw more than a few rocks into the ruts with my trusty spade.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

Scratching / damaging the thing is one thing but knocking it off and running it over making it useless is another! Not to mention how much a new one might costs!!

Take it off - its not as flimsy as it looks and will go back on a lot easier if it hasn't been smashed into something first!!!

Enjoy

Get a Mantec guard fitted like off of the LR Experience FL2s.... Would get one myself but I'm not allowed.

Definately Thumbs Up
And a tank guard, you know it makes sense. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

from my experience when I got stuck last time in mud, it took me about 15mins to actually get the towing hook onto the latch. The "plastic thingy" made it really difficult to work around the latch, esp when it's covered in mud. And it also catches a lot of mud underneath it. I'd remove it next time I go off road, but let's hope there's never a need to get towed!
