first i have heard of a stitching problem

It's a fault same as any other so yes, if it under warranty it should be repaired. However I am not sure how the average garage grease monkey is going to cope with a needle and thread

Under warranty so they will replace, rather than repair... that may mean an entire new seat though |

Of course LR will firstly look in to why the stitching has come undone.....
